CentOS v5 reaches end of life in March next year on 31st March 2017. Once this date is reached, there will not be any further operating sytem updates to address bugs or security issues - this will be a completely  unsupported operating system which obviously then raises risks.

Following the end of life date, cPanel also will no longer provide any updates to cPanel based servers running on CentOS v5 and so this also will become a security risk too.

We have today provided detail of this to any VPS or server customers who may be running this OS version still and provided information on what is required to move to a supported operating system after this date.
